Junior summer season - Changes from Round 6 in some grades This year Basketball SA has introduced changes to the competition structure for the juniors to improve the experience for young players. Division 1 and 2 are now referred to as Metropolitan League and Division 3 and below have been renamed as the District League. The District League will be subject to regarding after Round 5, with teams in the top of a pool advancing to the pool or division above and teams in the lower section of the ladder being regraded to the pool or division below. This system has been introduced to ensure that all teams have an opportunity to play in a competition best suited to their ability.
Be sure to check the draw carefully after Round 5 as teams may have moved pools.

NBL1 - Season start 10 April 2021 Upcoming events 10 April 2021 | NBL1 season start v Forestville (away) 17 April 2021 | NBL1 v South (home). Book your tickets here (Book early to avoid disappointment) Home games Our first home game will be on Saturday 17 April and we are gearing up for a huge night, taking on South at the St Francis de Sales Sports Centre. If you are interested in getting involved in the operations at home game, please register your interest in the following roles: Stats - NBL1 are rolling out training in the new stats software Synergy Stats. Joshua Lloyd will coordinate the Stats Team for Mavs NBL1 home games. 2. Scorers Basketball SA provide a scoring official for each of the men's and women's games who will call the game and coordinate across the team of volunteer scorers. We will need to provide three scorers for each game and invite anyone interested to provide your details to E: admin@easternmavericks.com.au. IT support In preparation for home games we are seeking the inking support of a Club member with IT skills to assist set up for score bench, live stats and promotional power point slides with the St Francis de Sales IT system. If you have relevant skills and experience please provide your details to E:admin@easternmavericks.com.au Game day/night Physio We are seeking in-kind support from any of our members with qualifications in sports physio, or similar, for game day/evening physio assistance including: pre-game strapping; muscle release (courtside only); and minor injury support, e.g. sprained ankles, dislocated fingers, muscular contusions and strained muscles. If you have relevant skills and experience please provide your details to E: admin@easternmavericks.com.au Team duty To ensure our home games run smoothly a junior team will be rostered on to assist with roles including: - register attendees upon entry - run canteen - support bar sales - sell raffle tickets - mop floors (at referee request) This is a great night out for the family to see out elite men and women players in action. All volunteers will receive free entry to the games. Please support your team manager when they put out the call for volunteers for your allocated home game. Canteen Manager and junior customer services contract staff
Eastern Mavericks have been granted access to the St Francis de Sales Sports Centre Canteen on Friday nights and Saturday and Sunday mornings until. We are seeking applications from a individuals with experience in hospitality as follows:
- Canteen manager (contract) : to manage the canteen.
- Junior customer services contract staff: to support the canteen manager.
Applications /CVs should be sent to president@easternmavericks.com.au. Applications close 7 April 2021. From time to time we are asked for contact details of any coaches who offer individual training for Mavs players. Two of our coaches so offer this services to Mavs players.
Amanda Williams our head coach for U10 girls and coordinator of our holiday Camp Mavericks has been providing individual coaching services to our members on a fee for service basis.
We now have another coach, Taylar Marston available to provide individual training to Mavs players. Taylar Marston - Taylar is currently Eastern Mavericks head coach for the U12 boys and coach of U23 men. - Taylar played the majority of his junior basketball at Eastern Mavericks, he played State level before joining the Premier league player for Eastern Mavericks.
